I truly hope not. (about Zack and Cody)

It's all very sad. Sad for the family left behind. Sad for the family that's divided.

I remember first the Jackson 5 (that's right I said Jackson 5) In sixth grade. Hard to believe that he has been such an influence for this long. So sad that he wigged out (clinical term) after such an incredible run.

I have the Thriller and Off The Wall albums....yes, I said albums *roll eyes* but no record player in our CD world. That's when he was attractive and I remember my nieces, in their 30's now, talking about wanting to marry him some day. What a magnificent talent. And a magnificent flake. Sigh.

That's funny... My husband and I recently cornered our own children to give our testimonies of the (former) awesomeness of the King of Pop, forcing them to watch the videos for "Beat It" and "Thriller" while helping them to understand how revolutionary it all was at the time. (Understandably, the special effects did little to impress our CGI-raised off-spring.) I thought that our words fell on mostly deaf ears... until this afternoon when I overheard my 10-year-old explain to his friend how awesome Michael Jackson was in his prime, and how revolutionary it all was at the time... all while forcing his friend to watch the video for "Thriller." It makes a mom proud.

Someone once said about Michael that only in America (and with the miracle of plastic surgery) can you be born a black man and die a white woman. His music may have been fun, but I don't find much else to admire about the man.

I just cringe about TLC promoting a show where we can watch a couple's marriage disintegrate. Have some class and back off -- Jon and Kate are not smart or mature enough to quit the show or to hold their tongues (I understand he's "proud of himself" and "excited for the next chapter in his life" while she says, "The show must go on.") but TLC should at least think about the 8 little lives they are exploiting -- the eight children who didn't ask to be filmed, have their best and worst moments put on television, and for Mom and Dad to put the demands of fame and fortune above their own welfare. Wow, I guess I have a strong opinion on the matter, don't I?
