Margaret kept kissing the pumpkin, like it was real! And she says “Tricker, trickey!” for “Trick or Treat!” Is that cuteness overload? Yes it is.

Here’s the awesome “all kids stand together for ONE picture for crying out loud it’s not that hard!” picture

It’s extra cute that Phoebe was Madeline once you know she’s in a French-immersion program this year and that she chose the costume all by herself (I usually strongly suggest costumes, but this year I held off)

After 57 costume changes, ideas, and pleas, I present you with a Jedi Knight! (I knew I was a sucker for buying that Knight sword at Target! We had his costume and light saber in our costume box all along! I knew he just wanted the sword and had no intention of using it for his Halloween costume–when will I learn?!)

Here’s Owen as a mad scientist before we smeared blood on his face and shirt. He wanted to pass out rubber mice and fake eyeballs and spiders this year to his friends and neighbors. I’d like to think that this year he really got the meaning of Halloween.

Margaret had no idea this day existed: a day when you could eat two lollipops at the same time and a half a dozen tootsie rolls after that. But now she does.

Miles, as the ninja, who went out trick-or-treating with his friends and not his mom this year. The first year. I know it’s time (Topher talked me down), but I still get teary-eyed about it (in private, like a good mother).

The end!

When you’re the same age as Miles.” -

November 6th, 2009 at 10:46 amCUTE!!! My kids wanted to stay home this year and hand out candy. WHA???? Two streets up from ours is “the” Halloween street (ie..blocked off from cars, every house does something awesome, like full screen viewings of the Thriller video on the front lawn, etc) and we don’t get much of the overflow. So, we had a few people, but then we made the Missionaries (who live with us) go to the door a few times….
Lauren went out with her friends this year too (but there was one designated mom…sigh).
