things I’ve noticed

Here are some things I’ve noticed lately:

1. McDonald’s $1 McDouble burger used to have two slices of cheese on it, now it has one. There was no press conference. There was no subject testing (that I was involved in.)

2. I am the audience to whom companies market wrinkle cream, eye repair systems, and “facial regimens.” As an educated woman I cannot, for the life of me, distinguish between the brands, the products, creams, serums, and masks. Seriously, can I just use Vaseline?

3. Over dinner the other night, while explaining to our children the value of education, we reasoned that “the more education you receive, the more money you will make.” Topher and I burst into laughter and couldn’t even spit out the whole phrase. At that moment nothing in my whole life has ever been more funny. That’s real comedy.

4. Sometimes I wish people wouldn’t always do their best. In some cases, I wish they would do a job half-way, but “do the job,” being the operative phrase.

5. I’m considering the fact that I add cheese to my Lean Cusine’s one of the many reasons I can’t seem to drop the last 15lbs of baby weight.

You are too funny! As far as the facial regime thing – I just read a thing about using olive oil to cleanse your face. I’m going to try it! No seriously! http://simplemom.net/oil-cleansing-method/

P.S. 2 of your 5 things contained items about cheese. I hear you, fellow cheese lover. (a cheesie?)

Yeah, I saw in BYU magazine last month that the average income of someone with a master’s degree is about $40k MORE than my husband (with a masters degree) makes. We’re getting ROBBED.

Dear Lisa, rest assured that I have been barely reaching mediocrity on all fronts. My biggest accomplishment of the past five weeks is that I just prepared kraft dinner for lunch. Just now.

Also…serum…because we’re in a comic book laboratory every morning whilst putting on our makeup?? (I had to say ‘laboratory’ in my head with a british accent in order to spell it.) (British accent? English accent? Which?)

ps – #3…Oh, number three. How you sing to me.

Yes. You can use Vaseline. My mom always did, and her skin is amazing.

Ok, I’m a nerd, but the McDouble is what MCdonalds launched after having the double cheeseburger on the $1 menu for a couple years. Now a double cheeseburger is still available at like $1.19 or something, but everyone always thinks that’s what the new $1 Mcdouble is, and McD hopes you’ll never notice it’s different and has less cheese.

    Make sense?

  9. To #2- I recently saw a reality show that I won’t amit to and the old granny had fabulous skin and she always used vaseline.

Just wanted to say that my family loved “Stalking Santa”! They were even happier to find out that we actually ownded the DVD and they could watch it again. I didn’t even know what it was when I bought it. I was pleasantly surprised!!

My 66 year old mother has always used baby wipes. She looks pretty good for 66.

The skin care aisle frightens me. I grab my Cetaphil and run.

Great post! If it makes you feel any better, imagine my situation of dealing with wrinkles but still having acne! Now what am I supposed to put on my face? Am a teenager or a middle-aged woman? Good luck!!

Wendy’s junior bacon cheeseburger is still 99 cents but it has become tiny!
